ceramic transfer

Ceramic transfer detail on cups

Ceramic transfer or vitrifiable screen printing is a high-quality printing method for materials such as glass, ceramics and porcelain. It is widely used for screen printing mugs. Unlike other printing methods on this type of material, this one is suitable for use in the dishwasher and microwave. The use of these appliances will not affect the stamping, which will hardly suffer wear. The design is stamped on a decal and this is adhered to the item, which is then baked in special ovens at temperatures of around 800 degrees Celsius.

It is advisable to stamp designs in flat colors since the colors are more homogeneous than four-colors.

In favor:

  • High fixation in complex materials

Against:

  • The exact panton colors cannot be guaranteed since due to the high temperatures they may suffer small color variations.
